President Mike Kreeger was elected to the Chino Valley Independent Fire District in 2013 and re-elected in 2018. He has served as President of the Board and is currently the Vice President.
Mike grew up in the City of Brea and attended Sonora High School. He attended Cal State Long Beach where he majored in Sociology. Mike also attended and graduated from the Long Beach Police Academy. He has further education at USC, attending Executive Education for Elected Leaders.
Mike Kreeger has resided in the City of Chino Hills with his wife Melynda and their two children since 1997.
Mike has worked as a Commercial Insurance Broker since 2000. Mike has proudly served as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff since 1996, working patrol and helping to run 2 different volunteer groups.
Mike is an active volunteer and has served with the City of Chino Hills as a Parks and Recreation Commissioner, a Public Works Commissioner, and a Committee Member for Chino Hills Day at the Fair. Vice President Kreeger has also served on the San Bernardino County General Plan Advisory Commission and the Chino Valley Unified School District Construction Bond Oversight Measure M Committee. He has also served as Principal for a Day, as well as a classroom volunteer and PTA Member at his kids’ schools. Mike has volunteered for AYSO as a Coach and a Referee. He has also volunteered for the La Habra United Methodist Church as a Trustee, a Preschool Board Member, Church Council Representative, and an Advisory Team Member for the Youth Ministry.
Mike was recognized as Volunteer of the Quarter in the Spring of 2012 for the City of Chino Hills. He was also selected as the Reserve of the Year in 1999 and received the Commander’s Award from the San Bernardino County Sheriff. He was also recognized as the Layperson of the Year in 2006 from the La Habra United Methodist Church.
In his personal life, Mike enjoys camping at the beach with his family and spending time at the family cabin in Lake Arrowhead.
