Fireworks
Chino Valley Fire is responsible for fireworks enforcement regarding the sale, storage, and use of fireworks throughout our jurisdiction; however, each city is allowed to prohibit or allow fireworks within their individual city boundaries.
All fireworks are strictly prohibited in Chino Hills and the unincorporated county areas within the Fire District's jurisdiction. Chino allows the use and sale of fireworks as outlined in their municipal code.
Chino Valley Fire District works in cooperation with the city of Chino for the permitting, sale, storage, and enforcement of safe and sane fireworks. The Fire District also partners with our local law enforcement agencies regarding illegal fireworks, including seizures and citations. Safe and Sane fireworks are illegal if prohibited by your city or county.
The use, possession, or sale of illegal fireworks and the illegal use of Safe and Sane fireworks are misdemeanors that will result in a $1,000 fine and up to one year in county jail.
Possession of explosive devices and large quantities of fireworks are felony and result in fines up to $5,000 and sentencing to state prison.
