Firefighter of the YearFirefighter/Paramedic Mark Bozek was selected by his peers as this year’s Firefighter/Paramedic of the Year based on his exceptional performance this past year.
Firefighter/Paramedic Mark Bozek joined the Chino Valley Fire District as a Firefighter/Paramedic on April 12, 2004. Mark was born in West Covina and graduated from Alta Loma High School in 1997. Mark attended the Mount San Antonio Community College Fire Academy in 2000. In 2003, Mark attended and graduated from the Crafton Hills College Paramedic Program.
Mark and his wife Colette have two children, Keira (4), and Ashlyn (2). Mark and Colette are expecting their third child, a baby boy who is due in March. Mark and his family currently reside the City of Upland.
Mark is heavily invested in the future of young men and women desiring a fire service career by taking the lead role in the Fire District’s Fire Explorer Program for over six years. He is also a member of the Fire Foundation and has taken on the challenge of coordinating the Annual Firefighter Muster. Mark was responsible for coordinating the Chino Valley Fire Foundation’s First Annual Car Show.
Mark has also been a member of the District’s Honor Guard since 2007, which requires extensive training and dedication.
Mark has always demonstrated a strong dedication to public service and safety. Mark has a great work ethic and is highly reliable in the performance of his duties.
Mark exemplifies the traits necessary for a successful fire service career. He is a true asset to the Fire District and the citizens he serves.
In his personal time, Mark enjoys cooking, has a unique gift for impersonations and also enjoys restoring his 55 Chevy.
