ExplorersThe Explorer program is a component of the Chino Valley Independent Fire District and a division of the Boy Scouts of America (Learning for Life). The program is designed to introduce the Explorer to the fire service as a possible career through training and participation is actual situations. Explorers have the opportunity to work with the community, ride-along with paramedic engine companies, compete in explorer muster events, and attend the Inland Empire Fire Explorer Academy.
The Post Advisors are all full-time members of the Fire District and oversee 35 Explorers. Recruitment occurs in January and June. The position of Explorer is a volunteer position, but can pay many dividends in experience and training for an individual interested in a career in the fire service.
Basic Qualifications of Membership**:  | Pass all portions of the application testing process
|  | Maintain a "C" average in each subject in school
|  | Clean driving and police records Age range- 14 to 21 |

Those interested in applying for the post must complete an interest sheet, found at all CVIFD fire stations and at CVIFD administration.
